The essentials in one sentence: your photos and videos are analyzed only on your iPhone and are never transmitted to Giga or anyone else. Giga requires no account and collects no data that could identify you.
1. Who we are
The Giga application (the “App”) is published by Maxime Gadras, sole proprietor (SIRET 834 322 679 00020), 6 chemin des Cuettes, 13260 Cassis, France (“we”), acting as data controller.

2. Your photos and videos never leave your device
Giga needs access to your photo library to work: that is the very purpose of the App. This access is entirely controlled by iOS — you choose to grant it (fully, partially or not at all) and can change or revoke it at any time in Settings → Giga → Photos.
All processing of your photos and videos — size analysis, duplicate detection, similar-photo comparison, preview generation — runs locally, on your device. In particular:
- no photo or video is ever sent to a server, ours or anyone else's;
- no thumbnail, hash, caption, location data or filename derived from your content is ever transmitted online;
- Giga creates no copy of your content outside your device.
Deleting photos always requires your explicit confirmation, followed by the iOS system confirmation. Deleted items remain available for 30 days in the “Recently Deleted” album of Apple's Photos app.
3. Data we collect
3.1 No account data
Giga offers no account creation. We collect no name, email address, phone number or any identity data.
3.2 Anonymous usage statistics
To understand how the App is used and improve it, we collect anonymous usage statistics through PostHog, hosted in the European Union (PostHog EU Cloud). These events are strictly technical and aggregated — for example: app opened, screen viewed, number of items sorted, bytes selected, funnel step reached.
By design, these events can contain no content or identifier derived from your photos: only numbers, booleans and closed categories. Usual technical data is also processed: device model, iOS version, language, app version.
No advertising identifier is used, and this data is never linked to a real identity. You can disable these statistics at any time in the App: Settings → “Share anonymous statistics”. Disabling also drops any events still queued for sending.
3.3 Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions are concluded and billed exclusively through your Apple account (App Store). We never have access to your payment details.
To verify the validity of a subscription, the App relies on the RevenueCat service, which processes the purchase receipt issued by Apple and an anonymous technical identifier specific to the installation. This processing is necessary for the performance of the contract (providing Premium features).
3.4 This website
This website is static: it uses no cookies, no trackers and no audience measurement tool. It is hosted by Vercel Inc., which may process technical logs (IP address, timestamp) for security and routing purposes.

5. Data sharing
We sell or rent no data. The only recipients are our technical processors, strictly to the extent necessary:
- PostHog (anonymous statistics) — hosted in the European Union;
- RevenueCat (subscription validation);
- Apple (app distribution, subscription billing);
- Vercel (hosting of this website).
Where data is transferred outside the European Union (RevenueCat, Apple, Vercel — United States), such transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards, notably the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
6. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over data concerning you.
An important note: as usage statistics are anonymous, we are generally unable to link an event to you personally — exercising certain rights may therefore be moot. Your photos are never transmitted to us: they remain entirely under your control, on your device.

7. Security
Since your photos never leave your device, their security relies on iOS protections (device encryption, app sandbox, permissions). The App's network exchanges (anonymous statistics, purchase validation) are encrypted in transit (TLS).
8. Children
Giga is not intended for children under 13 and knowingly collects no data about them.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the App or in regulations. The date at the top of the page indicates the latest revision; in the event of a substantial change, the App will inform you.
